About

PeaceTalk.ai is an AI chat bot designed to help you communicate in a way that reduces stress, fosters empathy, builds better relationships.

The tool is grounded in the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC). NVC is a communication approach developed by psychologist Marshall Rosenberg in the 1960s. It is also referred to as Compassionate Communication or Collaborative Communication.

The goal of NVC is to create a quality of connection between individuals that allows compassionate giving and receiving. It is based on the principles of empathy, authenticity, and mutual respect, and it emphasizes the importance of clearly expressing feelings and needs without judgment or blame.

In NVC, individuals learn to communicate in a way that promotes understanding and connection, while avoiding language that is likely to trigger defensiveness or hostility. The approach involves four components: observation, feeling, need, and request. By practicing NVC, individuals can build stronger and more empathetic relationships, improve conflict resolution skills, and foster a sense of connection and understanding with others.

You can learn more about NVC at the Center for Nonviolent Communication. I cannot recommend enough Marshall Rosenberg's book Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life
